H&R Coilovers

Hi to all !

I am planing on geting a H&R Coilover kit for my Clio 172 MK1.

I was wondering if any if you have some info on this kit, and if someone had any experience with them on this or other car.

Allso what do you think about H&R Coilovers in general ?

Thanks...

can you explain to me what exactly is adjustable on them ?

There specs say - 20 to -70 mm on the front and -20 to -50 on the rear.

How do you adjust the height and how do you adjust the stiffness ?

Thanks.

H&R are one of the top suspension manufacturers in the world. I think im right in that porsche use them exclusively. Id advise getting some blistein shocks as well. I knew a BMW owner who had this combo, and it was very impressive for a 318.

teh H&R coilover kit compramises new struts with H&R insers and a 2.25" ID spring. Its adjustable on the front by means of a adj spring platform whic you merely move up and down the strut body via the threaded strut.

It should be rebound adj too.

the rears should also be adj shockers with a 2.25" ID spring located on a adj spring platform, but i;m not 100% sure on teh rear setup. It might possibly be separate springs in the spring seats and adj dampers...but i doubt it.

anyway, H&R are good, but their road stuff is dedicated Rd equipement, and not the best for teh track, although it will probably be better than std for your application.

However, there are not many adj 172 coilovers for sale so its up to you.

I did post a while ago during the summer about a set i was designing and the price. They are used on the clio challenge cup here in Zhu Hai. They are height adj, use the coilover design with 2.25" springs, with tender springs too. And use bilstein non adj cliocup (as in the race series) damper inserts. Nobody was interested so i didnt offer them to the public, but i might whe it comes roung to equiping the new cars with the dampers for the new race series.

ill posty when its done.

but wont of had as much development work gone into it.

Most replacement performnce dampers will be nothing but a replica strut with a spring rate and compression/rebound damping increase of 30%......no development at all!
