Have a feeling my Aux belt is about to go... (182)

Hi,

Firstly - its been 33k since last aux belt service, secondly (i presume) the belt, has been screeching on full lock.

Just a moment ago I parked the car at work and whilst trying to avoid full lock, the steering locked up twice. Is this the belt slipping and the power steering failing?

Car is going in ASAP for its aux belt service, but I'm paranoid about my 30mile drive home tonight. Just passed the MOT without advisories - it will be my luck that it goes now.

Will I make it home? And will the car make it to the garage for the service? Place your bets now.

Sounds like your powersteering pump is failing mate, might not be the aux belt (although that does need changing).

Can't advise you on anymore than that, sorry.

might just be low on PAS fluid.
