have magnex even seen a clio before they started making there exhausts?

  LY 182
in the middle of fitting mine, has any body else had this problem?
the angle of the middle section where it bends over the axle is completely wrong i've had to releif cut it and bend the thing upwards just so it can meet up with the cat and leave the backbox in a nice position

unless its because of the 182 manifold, i've just shortend the 182 cat but even with the 172 i still cant see the angle being right

Doesn't seem like it...! I bought one and sold it- build quality looked ok, but the size of the thing was huge and even looking at it comparing to standard put me off fitting it.

(I had an old one on my MK1 Valver though and that was perfect, but it's put me off a bit from using them again after seeing the new one)

see you have a turbo, i had a magnex on my xr3,, that fitted perfect aswell.

bit anoying im basically using the bits they send to custom build myself an exhaust, but oh well

My 172 magnex system is crap TBH... and my Dad works there, been in 5 times for "adjustments" they must of designed it on a friday afternoon (rush job) LOL

i did make it fit in the end, i attacked it with the torch, fits nice now i just begrudged doing it.

haha yeh mines the mid section to back box chopped, welded, re-bent LOL..

Just fitted a de-cat and now its knocking again :/
How much of a pain are they to fit, took me and a friend 7hrs!!!

My Magnex is spot on with a 182 mani conversion. Only problem i have ever had was the clamp coming loose and knocking off the rear axle

182 cat tho?? Why ?? :S :S

Youve gone to the trouble of a 182 manifold conversion then choked it up by fitting a cat?? :S
You'd get more power fitting a simple decat on a 172 than a 182 mani conversion and then full cat

think hes done a full 182 conversion, therefore the manifold would have come with the engine, as would the cat

My Magnex exhaust has also been a right pain in the ass.....knocking & the back box coming off its mountings ALL the time!! GRRRR!!

I had about 7/8 replacements from Magnex for my 182 and when I finally got it right I sold the exhaust and then the car lol

  LY 182
yeah i bolted the lot in in one go, needed the car on the road quicker than i could find/buy/afford a 182-172 decat pipe.
so i cut the 182 cat open, shortened it, removed its innards and welded it back together
its nice also as it looks like a cat from underneath.

After a lot of persuasion with the welder and the grinder mine now fit's perfectly! Lol! I'm thinking of applying for a job with magnex to show them how it should be done!

  LY 182
all mine need was an alteration to the mid section, after where it bends down over the axle and straightens out i put another bend in it upwards

  Megane 225
Mine was too long, and the pipes stuck out well past the bumper. I wouldn't buy another 1, but now it's fixed I'll live with it!

The just simply don't fit as standard, or with the standard mounts either. I've had to cut an inch of the sleeve that attaches to the cat so that the exhaust can sit forward enough for the bend over the axle to be in the right position so it doesn't knock.

I had to do no end of f**king about with mine to get it right, i'm glad I didn't pay £350 for it or else it'd have gone back by now.

Normally the Mangex quailty is very good! But i dont know whats happend to the 172 system :s

I want another exhaust system, but cant justify spending £300 for no reason LOL

  BMW M135i
I toyed with the idea and almost ended up ordering a miltek but had one last piss about with it and seem to have finally got it right now. Love the noise though, thats the only reason I bothered messing with it as it looks s**t too!

Yerp, i keep pestering my Dad to make a new back box becase its bloodey HUGE, sticks out, never looks leval and drops off every other week LOL!!

  LY 182
oh yeah i welded a bar from the extra support to the boot floor lol.
just a small bit of round bar it just stops a bit of flex on that side been ok for a month or so

Magnex are utter dog poop.... end of!!

One of the best exhausts you can get for evo's!!! May want to rethink that comment?!

Too heavy and big for the 172. 182 system looks ok tho.

+1

Good on some other cars but not the Clio

TBH my Magnex I used to have was well made and sounded good but I couldn't get over the looks and the weight so it had to go.

Agree with Ali and Neil G... Many friends and Family Members have had Magnex exhausts and they have Fitted Perfect so i thought it must be good on the Clio... Hmmmm.... It looks good and sounds nice but has been problematic to say the least

I had a magnex on my old mx5, transfomed that car, I think it was about £350. It fit perfectly, wasn't loud or raspy just the perfect note, made it sound like a mini rx7 at 6000 rpm and the car responded better through the gears too. Three years on it still looked like new.

Sounds good

I always remember Magnex being nice on Subarus as well...IIRC they did a tidy 3 inch single pipe one which fitted the car nicely and wasn't that much bigger than a Prodrive exhaust.
