Hazy "spots" on my bonnet

Kinda a weird one here. I don't have any pics of it either, which makes it harder :(

Imagine hazing, from a buffer, on your paintwork. Now, whilst cleaning my car today, after I rinsed, I noticed that my bonnet was covered in little hazy "spots" on one side. These spots were the size of a raindrop, I guess. Now, I managed to machine them out, but I'm quite worried as to what they were :( Anyone got any ideas as to what it could have been, and if they're likely to come back?

AFAIK I didn't park under a tree or anything, so the only thing that would've been in contact with my paint would've been rain...

I know the lack of pics might make it a bit difficult to diagnose :(

No, it's 100% not water spotting. All of the marks are just haze, as opposed to water spotting. That's why I was a little concerned, even though they seem to have gone with a bit of machine work, I don't want them reappearing :(

Id guess that too.

Or some form of tree fallout??

I did initially think that, as there is a large tree at the edge of my driveway. But if that was the case, then the whole car would have the same thing, Shirley? But it's limited to just the bonnet :(

Nope, too small!

They're the same size as water spots would be, but they're not. They're just...haze? I wish I'd taken pictures now, but it was quite hot so I didn't want to spend long machine polishing.

Berry etchings? Acid from berries can damage paint in the same way bird droppings do. So small round droplet sized marks.

That sounds like it could be the problem, our neighbour has a berry tree of some description, and they do fall off in the wind. It hadn't marred the paint in the same way bird droppings do, but I think I'd just caught them in time, tbh. Cheers JD!

Any tips on removing these? As i've got a few on my bonnet too and only my bonnet! tried vinegar and a few other things as i thought they were water marks no joy though??
Is machine polish my only option to remove? If so any tips on polishes / compounds to use etc?
Thanks in advance guys

Tree fallout then....

I guess it is, yeah - I assumed (wrongly) you were talking about the dust and sap rubbish that generally accumulates on your car when you park below a tree...

I machine polished mine, and they came out with no trouble at all. I didn't even use that heavy a pad/polish combination, FYI I used a Sonus white pad, with Sonus Enhance polish (SFX-2).
