Heater Matrix

Car  Renault Clio Mark 2
Hi I am new to this forum but hope that someone maybe able to help. My daughter's renault clio mark 2 1999 needs a new heater matrix. I know the part is cheap the labour not. Is there anyone in the Devon & Cornwall area that would be able to do this job and how much would you charge. Many thanks I have been quoted silly prices so far. There comes a point where the cost out ways the value of the car. Look forward to hearing from you. I think the wiper motor may need replacing too so price for both please. Regards

Out of interest, what have you been quoted? Its labour intensive but a novice* could do it in a weekend. Wiper motor is easy.

(*by novice I mean someone with at least some common sense! lol)

Thank you Brian. Hi Daniel between £250 - £400. The wiper motor is just what I have read. She phoned to night to say wipers stopped working and there was a smell. Having read the posts, etc seems as though this is possibly what could be on its way out or burnt out. Have to check tomorrow when she gets home. Heater matrix is a certain as all other checks have been done. She has gone through summer without but now needs to get it done. Regards

Thanks for that boom. I wont even know where to start but your right wont be paying that amount

You could try Car Services in Miller Court in Millbay, or Tyresmiths by the railway station, which are the garages I use if I'm too busy, but I've never done the above changes myself and wouldn't like to try it out for the first time on someone else's car lol.

Thanks McGherkin I will give them a try. I understand I dont think from what I have read that the heater matrix is difficult just time consuming. Will continue with post and see what happens. Thanks

I can't see it being a big job when stripping my track car I just disconnected the 2 hoses in the bay pulled back the 4-5 clips holding it in and pulled it out. That was while the dash was in too.
