Help!!! 182 Wheelbearing!!!

Am in a bit of a panic, have had a mate in the car today ( a trained mechanic, though its not what he does now!!!) I must admit, I hav e heard this noise at about 80, but am now hearing this at slower speeds and he has heard it to, sounds like a wheel bearing going or brakes binding, no pull at all to either side when I loosen grip on steering so I dont know!!!Seems to be coming from passenger side. Please can someone confirm whether this is me being paranoid (its just tyre noise) or whether a trip to reno is called for. Dont think it is gearbox, as all gears are going in well. Help

i would say its always best to get these things checked out even if just to put your mind at rest, mine is going in on friday for my knocking, but they dont fix it but at least they will be able to tell me whether it is anything i need to worry about.

Not got a 182 myself but nice cars!

Oh and out of interest "Milf Hunter" what do you drive?

as usual a serious thread with a serious problem turns into a jealous slanging match . . my 182 is at reno at the moment for exactly what you have described. the trouble is, it is only me that can hear it . would be tyre noise if it was coming from both sides but this is just the left.

i went out with the tech and sat in the passenger side and could hear a continuous drone, he could hear nowt, but thats not much of a surprise seeing as how it took a full week to recognise i had a clunk as i set off. reno seem to think you are in their garage for the fifth day running due to mental problems rather than mechanical faults, stick with it m8 if you think there is a problem do not let them convince you it is nothing.

I have the clunk noise too, did they find out what that was? read a thread on here somewhere that is the ABS setting.

yes it is the abs. mine is still in and will be sorted tomorrow i gave the go ahead today after suffering withdrawl symptoms from my 182. i had a big problem with them having to take the car apart after i had just got it, i could of held out for a replacement but i want my 182 back now and they have assured me it will be as it should be. i did say though that i would only give it one chance, luckily my finance company have not paid for the car yet, and will not until i give the ok that i am happy with the car. something else i noticed was a noise on the steering, when you are at a standstill try rock the wheel to and fro and see if there is a click with a slight noise. the garage are in touch with reno about this and will give me a clue tomorrow. let me know if any other 182s do this cheers !

i have now noticed my clutch pedal is lumpy or slightly juddery as I press it in but doesnt do it when the engine isnt running, anybody else have this or am i being petty now?

the trouble is when having one problem, you can start to think everything is wrong. you will know for sure when something is wrong it will drive you mad, once it has then the only thing to decide is coffee or hot chocolate lol.

Has anyone actually got a 182 that has not had to be taken back yet

I have a week to go till I pick up my car.....Im really considering it though...

I might go for a jap car instead.... really getting ticked off with the amount of people who are just not getting a fair deal in the fact that there cars are just unfit for road use when purchased new!!

I will really have to consider losing the £200 and keeping my Cup a little longer.....

Touch wood Ive had no problems at all - bear in mind that on any web car-forum you only ever hear from the people that have had problems!

Also - If £200 is your deposit, you may find the dealer can charge you quite a bit more than this if you cancel!

Matt

up to you m8 but despite my problems the 182 is a brilliant drive, i would not say it is better than the cup(my last car), but the luxuries combined with the cup spec work. hopefully my niggles will be over soon and i can get on with my love affair. lol :)
