HELP!!!!!!! annoying K&N noise!!!

Ive recently fitted a K&N 57i kit to my clio 2002 1.2 and ever since there has been a VERY ANNOYING wooshin noise wen my throttle is about mid-way! Ive contacted K&N direct and they assure me its NORMAL ??? Its not the throaty Grrr but more of a whistle till i pass mid range then it roars like it should...? Oh and before anyone asks, yes i have checked and double checked tightness of ALL nuts bolts and screws/clamps etc. any info would be much appreciated,

thats is correct mate mine makes same noise!!!! i was unsure at 1st! but now the looks i get when it whistles and roars is cool!!! lol

all K&Ns whistle mate at some point in the revs

meant the 1.2 kit - i had a 57i on my nova and loved the combination of noise from that and a piper exhaust.

I have one on my 1.2 8v, its whistling like hell at midrange. Im actually thinking of ripping it off. dead annoying!!!!

Its supposewd to do that, throttle oin partway, its just it sucking the air in.

Overall i was very impressed wiht mine, amde the car noticably quicker, in particualr had more torque, didn;t do much for fuel consumption tho, esp as i was thrashing it to hear the K&N

Miss the sound of my K&N on the williams, used to sound awesome at high revs. Bit of a turbo like whistle.
