HELP!! car wont start/turn over 172 cup

Hi

Was fine at lunch time but goes to fire her up when finished and nothing.

A colleague kindly lent me his car and jump leads but it still wouldnt work

It's not turning over and everytime i try to turn the key something in engine bay clicks (starter motor??). when i have the jump leads on the clicking stops and also my interior lights also get brighter obviously from the power of the donor car but still wont turn over.

the red immobilizer light goes out as normal, doesnt stay on.

any ideas alternator, starter??

Had to leave car at work wouldnt start via jump leads, still wont turn over wont let me lock it or turn any the lights on.

i know theres loadsa threads about starting issue's but where do i need to start??

Might be a bad earth does sound like the powera getting from the battery to the starter.

It managed to bump start, went for drive tried to start again nothing still wont turn
Do you think its the battery help please

It was battery, just fitted new one so if anyone has same problem give that a try
