someone put a deep scratch on the bonnect of my 172cup, but after using a polish gun, it looked look the paint work is smudged, althought the scatch has slightly faded.

wat can i do, its on the front bonnet

paint smudged sounds like youve burnt through the laquer mate. need pics to confirm.

will need blowing in or the entire bonnet painted

If you were using a standard rotary polisher, then as FM said, sounds like you've burnt through. If it was a deep scratch (ie: one you could catch with your fingernail with no problem), polishing would not have helped, so you would have had to get it painted anyway

If I were you, I'd look as this as an opportunity to get your stonechips done too.

Could try some G3 compound and some polish after..see how it turns out.

sounds like you only used a scratch remover and not something after to buff back up to a shine
