So got my 182 few days ago and was told it is on GAZ coilovers, looked underneath the rear of the car and the shocks are different on each side :s

On the right the shock is black with a yellow spring

And on the left is this shock, yellow with black spring, anyone confirm that these are different models of coilovers? Or what is going on.

Any help would be massively appreciated!

The right shock looks like it's greasy with a rusty spring,
and the left looks like a rusty shock with a greasy spring.

Silly question but are you sure they're not just rusty?

Well, one of them is buggered at least. Looks like the Exxon Valdez ran aground on it.

Springs should be both yellow too. My Gaz were. One just looks really rusty... it's only a PPC on them, so it flakes off.

Thanks, will give them a clean and look again but one must be leaking to be covered in oil, are they worth getting sealed back up or better off selling them and getting standard cup suspension and eibach springs?

What did you have on your 182 Christopher, yours looked really smart.

Also the one covered in oil/black one is much shorter than the yellow one, is this due to the lack of oil in it?

If there is no fluid to allow it to be held up...then the weight is not supported...so will be a bit lower.

I would bin them and buy a set of spax coilovers from sideways danny.

Erm yeah... they're fucked :dapprove:

If you want it low like it is now then get some new coilovers.

If not, i'd just find some second hand standard shocks and put Eibachs on them.
