help needed with torsion bar?????



  Audi TT 225 Quattro
im going to lower the back of my valver tommorow and brought some m10 threaded rod today, tried to fit it in the torsion bar hole but it wont go in, rod is def m10 as ive got the m10 nut which fit, do i have to bang it in with a hammer or should it just screw in???
thanks for any help??

it should just screw in. is there a one-way clip in the way? some of them had one in there to stop the torsion bar from coming out (don't think it's gonna fall out some how!) remove it using a screwdriver and a pair of long nose pliers. if you haven't got one, i can't really help. the bar is deff M10 thread. the only think i can suggest is use a wire brush thing that goes in drill and try to clean the start of the thread in the bar, and use a lot of WD40.
