Hi all clio newbie here, need help pls

Hello all,

I have a clio dynamique 1.216v and recently brought a scopion le man exhaust backbox. I had it fitted by R-tec and notice how the back box just sits so low from the bumper. It almost looks like the back box is going to fall off especially when I go over speed bumps. Does anyone else have this problem. Just that I have seen the clio pics in the forum and the scopican exhaust there seem much higher, i.e. less of the actual back box being shown.

I rang r-tec and they said it is to due with the back box having different back pressure so they are bigger then standard but they said I could bring it in to check up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Welcome mate!!

Sorry i cant help you out but im sure someone will be along shortly!!

If your in any doubt take it back to them for a check up fella just for piece of mind more then anything

Sounds like b****cks, get them to put it up it proably needs adjusting

Thanks for the replies,

Yeah just thought they took ages putting it on so I thought it was meant to look like that! I have also notice the engine making struggling noises when I do about 90 on the motorway with the exhaust on which obviously wasnt making noises before. Would an filter/induction kit actually help make my engine rev better?

Hi Tom,

I am based in watford, my clio is black with lexus light, clio double spoiler, scop exhaust, k-tec front gill. This noise is really bothering me, the exhaust just sounds so loud on the motorway. People say I should get an induction kit to remove it or to complement the exhaust. Is this what I need?

That might be just the way it is. twin exits can produce a boomy sound.

Personally i think fitting an induction kit could make more noise.

But you can have a go.

Yeah thanks,

Am I within my right to demand them to take the exhaust off if I am not satisfied, just when people look at it, it really DOES look like it is going to fall off!

They have probably used the wrong rubber mounts or something.. get them to fix it and if your still not happy speak to them about replacing it with either a different version or the original.

Oh, Welcome to the Club.. newbie poke http://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/poke.gif

lol _KDF, yeah I admit it I am a proper newbie, all I know is what mods I like but regards to mechanics...tech stuff lol I really have no idea. Lol I actually ask advice from my cousin, you may know him, his name was wongy he had a clio 16v, member of this site. But yeah I will take it back to R-tec.
