Hi Everyone, newbie here with a couple of questions..

  Clio 182
Hi all,

Thought I'd say hello, just collected my first 182. I bought it from Sparshatts in Fareham (reg FY54J**) and they told me the cambelt had not been done and they would do it for me on wednesday (coming), however the dealer clearly did not look through the receipts/invoices that came with it because it had its cambelt done at 49k and 72k (car is now on 80k). My questions are.. since the dealer is offering to do the cambelt for free should I have it done again for the sake of it, or leave it? I have read through the cambelt thread and the issues that can arise from non specialist garages and im not sure whether or not to trust them with it.

Last one.. on one of the invoices "cambelt kit" is listed with no mention to any of the other things such as aux belt, tensioners, pullies, phasher etc. would it be safe to assume that these have all been done?

Many thanks,

Paul

In relation to the first question when was the cam belt done in the book? If it was within five years I'd leave it.

As far as the second point goes, I'd contact the dealer who did the service and see what class of service they carried outon it. All dealers, garages will/should keep a record for up too 6 years I think.
