Hi new 172 cup owner (Needs a little help!) Westmidlands

Hi all!

Got my car about a week ago now first things first is the the F4R engine i have in a 172 cup 2003?

Ive also had a few running problems, my car was missin well bad the orange engine light came on. I change the coil and leads as where proper wet this has seem 2 fix it. But i still runs lumpy on idle. Thinkin of changin the spark plus its got NGK R in now, but unsure when where last done. Should i get the same or renault ones?? Also could it be anything else to y its runs lumpy on idle??

Ye rough idle is normal, as long as it doesnt stall or is super rough that sounds normal!

The NGK-R plugs are fitted at the factory and will be what you get from a dealer. If your leads were wet then the plugs may have become slighly corroded. This happened to my car but I diagnosed the misfire to cylinder #3 and just changed that plug - runs fine now.

Yeah i have a missfire as well just hear the exhaust poppin a bit on tick over. How much am i looking for a set of new plugs mate??

Hello mate, welcome to CS
Remember it is suppose to be a little rough on idle, renault made it that way because it's peak performance is way up in the 5k-6k rev bracket so don't worry about the idle, it took some getting used to but after a while you won't notice it
