  MR2 2.0 N/A & Mk1 1.2Clio
...is going on here?

ive got an alpine 9855r and 4speakers and sub and two amps.

when its on my ipod i get NO bass, and the speakers are soo load even when volume is on 0 on hu

BUT

when i flip to my cd, theres good bass but the speakers are pretty quiet

so im having to play with the gains ect when switching between sources, i dont understand this. shouldnt the outputs from the hu be the same for each source???

help me!!!

(summery)

cd and radio is perfect and as should be, volume wise and balance,
ipod is ridicusly and unbearably louder (even on 0 volume) and noo output from sub.

its the alpine ipod interface though, so other than volume on head unit i have no control. and amps arent in protection mode, gains are not up full

sounds like there is a fault with the ipod interface

as you should get any output at all on volume 0 as it actually mutes the audio ic

that shouldnt affect it though, do you think the ipod interface is faulty? anyone else use the alpine ipod interface?

  Skoda Fabia vRS
it will affect it though wont it ?

im not familiar with ipods but where does the interface connect to on the ipod, if its the headphone socket then any settings on the ipod are going to affect what goes to the HU

nah the interface connects to the data port, think of it like connecting your comp to ipod and playing through itunes

you have a problem with your interface, have you plugged it into the correct place in the back of the H/U ?
Silly question but I was witness to one install where the y guy had accidentlay wired his changer to the RCA outs Funny !!

Alternativley check all the setting on the ipod, there is an equaliser in there somehwere

lol impossible to do that cause it is a different type of connection, eveverything works but the output is massivly (no exaggeration) higher than cd and tuner, and no change in volume when going from 0 to max on hu.

found out what the problem was. bloody alpine manuals are shyte!!!! thought the ipod interface was considered a 'ai-net external processer' which according to the manaual meant a switch on the bottom was to be put in the eq/div side when in fact it aint a processer so needs to be in the normal position.

oh, does anyone know how to skip pages in the ipod track listing btw? cant fit all song onto the page so must be a way to get the rest?

iirc.. ipod ready HU's have the little quick search button next to the volume control then up and down arrows above and below, the middle button selects how you are searching the contacts of your ipod then the arrows scroll the chosen library... I haven't used mine for ages so i'm probably wrong!

Oh, and regarding your previous problem with the interface link up... someone didn't read the manual did they ;)
