Holiday Pics tips!

  Astra VXR & Smart CDi
Fly off to the Maldives on Sunday for 2 weeks and just wondered if anyone has any good tips for getting some really nice pics,

Will be taking Nikon D80 with kit lens and sigma 10-20. (might even take the Sigma 70-200 too)

Would it be worth investing in a filter or 2 before I go in order to get some nice sea/sky colours??

Also what sort of settings for sunsets/silouettes??

Many Thanks

Matt

Leave the 70-200, would of thought its too big. Get a 50mm prime to take.

Just have a play with modes, small aperature for the sunsets etc.

Yeah it is a tad big, but have plenty of room in camera bag if I do decide to take it! Just don't want to get out there and wish I had it with me.

(forgot to put 50mm prime on my original post, that'll defo be going)

With regards to filters is it a case of you get what you pay for? seem to vary a hell of a lot in price!!

Yes, don't skimp, otherwise it will make no difference with the filter.

Hoya are probably your best bet.
