How longs it been parked up? Did you leave the handbrake on for ages?

Yep, happened to my saxo the other day, upgraded brakes and got some pads 'given' to fit, after 3 days the pad had came away from the backing plate and was making a hell of a racket.

It's worse with drums. Should've seen them trying to push my car off the back of a low loader with both back wheels locked. It was like a puppy throwing a tantrum.

twice ive had the rear pads fall out of these shitey rear callipers!! just be thankful you were going slow when it happens!! i wasnt on one occassion and its made for a scarey few seconds of brake pumping!! absolutely awful design so i made sure my pads had some extra retainers now!

however, since i was moving on both occassions, i have no idea if the material had come away from the pad or anything lol.

nothing new to be honest..... Happens with cars that have been parked up for a while.... sometimes the brake's are locked on, then when you pull off rips the friction material off the pad. usually when rust has set in on the disks etc. Picked a 206 up once for work.. had been standing for months... drum brakes on the rear..... brakes seized on at first.. released em after a bit of clutch rocking bk & forth... went 100 yards down the & the friction material of the one shoe.... flew off and jammed in the bottom of the drum, locked the wheel up!!!! After getting the drum off.... the shoe's were well rusty!!

But didn't think this would happen as left the hand brake off n brakes haven't been engaged just in gear with wheel chokes just annoying more than anything wheels seized now will need too strip down but an excuse for new brakes in pads all round!

I've changed about 8 sets that have done it. 2 sets were in my own cars. I stand by my opinion that they're s**te for that reason alone.

Lol, you have no luck do you, we've run them in the race car ( blues), I have them in my road car atm (yellows).
