Horn Help !!

  BMW M3
Just bought a replacement horn from halfords as my oe is getting rubbish and i cant get it to work.

Its exactly the same except it has another terminal. So 2 terminals each trumpet.

According to instructions... i need to use a relay, more wire and have a additional power supply and also earth it. WTF !! There almost identical horns so why the extra crap.

Anyone got any help or know how i can by-pass that?

Thanks

I already had edde and it doesnt work. Put the old one back on and then it does work.

Old one has 3 terminals and new has 4 so im guessing it doesnt work because it needs to be connected to something. The instructions are really vague !!

Get a little 9v battery and work out which is the supply one/two lines and work from there IMO.

there will surely be a + and a - on each... work out which are which then bridge + to + and - to - then you have just 2 terminals really.. oh and you must attach it to the car to test it for earth reasons. Why don't you just get a stock one from scrappy?

Ok... cheers edde.

Just really confused as it seems i need to run additional wires from the battery via fuses etc... Seems a whole load of extra pish for an identical replacement horn, if only a bit louder.

I only have wire from the main supply to 1st terminal and then another wire from the 2nd to 3rd, so basically i need to buy new spade connecters and wire.

There is no markings on the horn and ive already had a brand new horn replacement from renault and is now packing in so forgeting the std ones.
