Hot Weather Tip for 172/182......

Car  VaVa

......With Renault Cat1 Alarm. If you turn your ignition on and off four times consecutively, it disables the volumetric sensors inside, so you can have your windows down a bit but still alarm/lock your car. Lock the car as normal and you should hear four beeps if you have done it correctly.

Useful in the hot weather.

Hope Im not teaching anyone to suck eggs.!
ps. All other sensors (doors, bonnet, boot etc) all remain active..

Yeah, I soon learnt how to do this last summer when I had my Cup... ;)

Its a bit of a pain to remember to do it, but at least it can be done. The CTR has a similar setup, but you press the button & lock the car as per normal, then within 3 secs press the button again and it disables the ultrasonics and stops the windows closing (total closure system), so a little easier.

Not got aircon in the Civic either, and black car with black Recaros gets a tad warm!

you lot are so bad, I thought about making a smart comment, but after the implications of last nights discussion I was very restrained!

*cant waiti to get in my CCd 182 at lunch time!*

It reverts back to normal mode the next time you unlock the car. So you have to set it every time. Bit of a ballache, but helps if your cars stuck in a work car park all day in the blazing sun...

Shall i start another thread "Hot Weather Tip for Cup owners....."

im a reble with a cause, but im gonna shut up now (well after I have hit 1000 posts that is!)

:D:D:D

i could have done with this at Trax last year when the sound-off behind us kept making my alarm go off....i just left the car unlocked all day!!

top tip....thank you!!

on my phase 1 i used to have to do this basically every single time i got out of the car, because the alarm would always go off during the night. its all in the manual i think - but im the kind of person who reads all the books before i even want to get into the car

other thing i learnt is about if the alarms gone off and when you turn key you get the beep, the little red LED will flash a certain number of times depending on what set the alarm off. this is how i always knew it was the ultrasound wotsits, thats 3 flashes iirc.

good evening guys, wondered if anybody could help me, how can i put my 182 on the forum, how do you do it, can anyone help me please.
