How do i change Discs and Pads - 2001 1,2 16v Dynamique

Hello people!

Im not too confident on the all self DIY bit but im fed up of giving nasty garages my hard earned cash and want to learn so...
Does anyone please know a rough guide on the net to changing front discs and pads? I gather it isnt rocket science so would be somewhere for me to start my own maintaining and gain some confidence too...

I did look at the guide to the 172/182 to see if it was similar but i couldnt get the pics to work?

Thanks, is it as simple as this...

Fix handbrake firmly, jack up car, put blocks behind rear wheels incase.. Remove wheels....
Remove caliper bolts, then pads, unscrew discs... Replace with new disks and unsure caliper pistons are fully apart, replace new pads ..then back together in reverse order?

Any odd tools i may need please?

I did my pads the other day, and have done discs and pads on valvers a few times.

really is straight foward. You might need a star key to remove your discs, or they might be allen key ones, I can't remember.

Also sometime the pistons can be a b*tch to push back in, sometime you can do it by hand, once in the past i've used a small g clamp.

Oh and you'll need a good socket set with Tbar, or spanners

Hmm, dunno if i got any star keys? Do Halfords normally stock them?

Yup they should do but if there anything like my Halfords they wont have them in stock!
