How Good Is Zymol

Its good, but I dont think its as good as the price suggests.

Never used it.. but... heh.

I know on some of the expensive ones, you get free refills.. which would probably be useful if you owned a valetting company - just no valetting companies use it.. so dunno?

I use Zymol. There are other products out there that compete with it like Zaino - not easily available in the UK. I certainly see it as a step above Autoglym. Tend to buy things like shampoo from Meguiars

I would recommend it. The wax last forever, so whilst expensive, it keeps oin and going and going

ive used the wash, and then the Wax (which has real beeswaxin) for a few years. it really is ace stuff. both of them will cost ya about £30

I currently use autoglym but i wouldnt mind trying the zymol wah and the wax.

Do Halfords sell it?

Is it safe to use after Ive been using other products?

Can get the wash from Halfords, its pretty cheap.. not used their wax before though so dont know if you can get it there!!

hi halfords do sell the wax and leather cleaner -

both are excellent - better than autoglym in my opinion and the wax is easier to wipe and take off any residue.

some of the range is expensive and i wonder if anyone else has used it but the gear i have purchased from halfords is worth the extra money -

hard to understand until youve tried it but its one of those products thats worth buying to try and you may be converted !

also it makes your car smell nice on the outside ! weird i know but you will know what i mean if you park your car in the garage !

not sure of the £5,000 wax though!

Agree with 172Fast!

The products in Halfords might not be as pricey as the "Real McCoy", but its still the best you can get off the shelf in Halfords stores.. and seems to do the job quite well.

Im going to try the wax soon.. was using Turtle Wax original last year and althought it gave a nice finish, it was a pain in the arse to apply/wipe off

Ah i see riplash

cool, may aswell give it a try

Ive always preferred autoglym to turtle wax, i found it laated a bit longer and gave a top notch finish.

the resin polish can get a bit dusty if left on too long but other than that is quality.

its not unlimited re-fills you will still pay 3 grand for a replacement refill.

Some of the one off kits cost up to £15000,these are for mtv crib people i think.Someone acctually comes to your house and takes a sample of your paint and goes away to make the best wax possible for the car wherever you are on the planet, its a real bling bling thing

Buy the sh*ttest wax from the cheapest market stall and wax your car, then compare it to the £5k wax!

There will be very little difference

u sure? according to the website

This container is refilled for life at no charge

I agree with "Riplash" the residue from other products is a pain to wipe off.

Zymol is different though -

Heres a question : if you had the money would you seriously buy the wax for £5,700 ? or is it just marketing ?

and does anyone really think the zymol products which are priced at £200 + are worth it ?

personally i wouldnt spent £5,000 for any wax !

we have a 172, jeep and 355 in the family and the halfords zymol range and other products do a really good job so we are wondering why its so expensive - guess im gonne email zymol for the "official" standpoint.

Also what is the best polishing cloth anyone has found ?

the halfords cloths "suck" !! all these strands keep comming off and it also can scratch the paint work of the cars if you look close enough! (maybe i have too much time on my hands ! lol ! )

does anyone recommend a site for high quality polishing cloths ?

www.yosteve.com

www.pakshak.com

Unfortunately theyre both in the U.S...

I have some Yosteve MF (Microfiber) towels and they are excellent quality though.

I use Zymol and its the best wax I have used for depth of shine!!!

Worth the money???? No IMHO!!! but I had to try the best!! I think value for money doesnt apply here! Remember that most people that spend £5K on wax are usually loaded and use them on cars which are worth millions!!! and to them £5K is loose change!! They may get most of that back in prize money if they win the top concours competitions!

I am currently using Zymol Destiny wax £400 and its the dogs but its a pain to prepare and apply!! Usually takes about 3-4 hours to do your car. You apply the wax with the palms of your hands (purvy or what) as it melts the wax to the right tempreture before you apply it!

I also have pots of Atlantique £700 and Vintage £1300 wax which I will be using when the tempreture gets warmer otherwise the wax doesnt bond to the paint! Ill let you know how good these are!

The importance of using HD cleanse before waxing is just as important! This is to strip off all waxes and contaminates.

Cars prepared by Zymol have won more top concours competitions than any other!!!!

PS Also remember that the cheaper stuff available in Halfords is not the same stuff as this is made by Turtle Wax and re-branded!

TBH, Id rather buy a run around car and keep mine in the garage rather than spend £1300 on wax!!

PS I purchased the sample kit that contained these 3 estate glazes so didnt pay those prices on the web site!

Like I said its normally for those with the paper stuff to burn!!!!!!! and they probably already own a fleet of Rolls, Bugattis, Ferraris, Lambos and clios - so a runabout maybe doesnt apply!!

Unfortunately, thats not me!(

thanks chowy for that info - the halfords stuff is not bad but i hear what you are saying with regard to the moe expensive wax.

let us know what you think of it when the weather gets warmer - if you rate it then i may try some but the only place i know of buying it is on the web!

thanks to clare for the cloth info also .

I use the autoglym polishing cloths, think theyr bout 8 quid for a pack of around 10 - dont quote me on that!

Theyr v.good (just shake them before you use them to get the little bits of excess cotton off!)

Zymol is meant to be the nads, developed by the legendary Mark Underwood aka Wax Wizard. He is a car enthusiast and a chemist.

He had a falling out with Zymol and sold his formulas to Swissol.

Swssol is the same quality stuff, but apparently easier to apply.

You need to use their Cleaner Wax to bring replenish the oils in the paint before applying the wax (or it wont stick properly). The cleaner fluid also gets rid of tar, stains, swirl marks and light scratches.

It is all natural stuff, NEVER use polish as its abrassive, unless your car is like 10 years old and got really dull paint.

The difference between halfords off the shelf stuff and Swissol is like night and day. Until I saw the results first hand, I never would have believed it.

The tub I got from them was £40, but it lasts ages, works out about 80p everytime you wax your car.

Mark used to sell Zymol and then had his own Wax Wizard brand, now Swissol.

Zymol was developed in the good old USA.

I still have some Wax Wizard stuff at home as well as Zymol

ive got the Carbon Wax, HD-Cleanse, Shampoo, Sponge, Towels, Microfibre Cloths, Applicators, Wax Applicators, Wheel Coat, and Wheel Clean

the wax is the best ive ever used by a good margin, fact is ive used it quite a few times and ive hardly used any of it, i think this tub will last me 10 years or more.......ive used a LOT of polishes/waxes before and this is definitely the best

HD-Cleanse leaves the paint surface really silky and a perfect surface ready for the wax, another thumbs up, also smells of caramel/chocolate

the shampoo i wouldnt bother with, use Meguiars Gold Class instead

Sponge IS better than other sponges..........

Towels are better than normal towels and worth the money if your a perfectionist, or, your very lazy and want to do things effectively and quickly

Microfibre cloths really are a step above all the others ive used, including the Meguiars ones

Normal applicators i wouldnt bother with, Wax Applicators are very good, similar to the Meguairs ones but better

Wheel Coat does work but im havin better results with Wheel Wax, the one in the black tub

Wheel Cleaner is also very good but Meguairs Hot Rims is better and cheaper

if you buy the wax then get the HD Cleanse, some towels, microfibre cloths, and wax applicators.........the wax will last you AGES and AGES so you will end up saving a fair bit of money over the years

just bought zymol carbon wax and the accesories.

unbelieveable! such a massive difference -

brun you are so right ! you have to try it to believe it.

it takes a good 4 hours first time to prepare paintwork and to make sure the wax bonds but wow ! my car didnt look like this when it come from the from renault!

:):):D
