You may wish to consult Clifford, but all goos alarms I've had in the past will remain fully active for XX hours, followed by a 'power saver' mode, was the same on my 172 and the same on my Bike - sigma/laser respectively.
If it's earthing somewhere it shouldn't be it could be drawing power continuously, I'm not a sparkie far from it...but certainly seems possible.
No it's in the boot with the battery.I take it your amp is under your seat/behind dash and not in the boot then?
