how much effort do you guys think it would take to fit a valver engine into a mk2 ph1 i no your all going to say go for 2.0 is still possible but please keep these coments to ya self reson for valver engine cheaper to buy and seen more parts around for it eg cams head work and can use the r1 carbs on them etc hoping to push 160 bhp any help of fred our eddie etc cheers

Imo much better to go for a 172 engine as it would be more straightforward. If, however, you want to go for a valver engine and are considering tuning it go for a williams engine as it really isn't worth throwing money at a valver lump as it doesn't respond anywhere near as well as the williams does. Also, a 2.0 bottom end can be picked up fairly cheap and valver engines can be had for as little as £50 so making it a 2.0 isn't necessarily all that expensive using a valver head and 2.0 bottom end.

172 is pretty much plug and play, valver into a mk2 wouldn't be hard mechanically, but making the electronics work would be "fun"

how much do you think it would cost to get it wired somewere else once got it in fred? was thinking mayb custmor gages our sumthink? and was going to go for 1.8 head and 2.0 as heard this makes a good reving engine

TBH fella by the time you're done its gonna cost the same as the 172 conversion IMO

lol ya seen him a few times now giving it death dont meen better but looked on ktec and seen more stuf availble etc looking at 160 bhp and think it be a good hobbie to crack engine and rebuild it all

its just i dont have the money to start with the 2.0 as dont have the 1,500 to get it all of matt this is sumthink i was going to do over a while and insurance would not like 19 yr old with 2.0 6 points lol unless i dont tell them as im only tpft

how much you think could do the 2.0 convrison of ebay and other brakers dont want brakes etc sa getting coilover and bigger brakes any way?

problem is getting the fiddly parts together

engine and box doesn't mater where it comes from

but you need the ecu, loom, key etc etc all from a donnor car

It doen't include many bit of the stuff you need buying the bits seperate is going to be very expensive.
