How much engine coolant?

Hi guys,

How much engine coolant is needed for a full system change on a 172? i went to renault today to get some type D coolant and they give me a 5 litre bottle, i asked if that was enough and he said yeah it will be fine, but im sure i read on here somewhere that it takes about 10 litres to fill?

Are renault right for a change or are they been numpties again and not gave me enough fluid?

i think it takes 7 litres from dry but 5 should be enough to do a coolant change as you never get it all out.

I used 4 litres of coolant and 3 litres of water, as directed on the tub.

renault type D is pre mixed , i got mine from GSF (cheaper than renault but is the same stuff)

the halfords premium red stuff is supoposed to be ok anyway.
