Ktec Kevlar pads £30 (paid reno to replace the fronts @ service, they charged me but didnt actually fit them)

10 months of fuel £35 per week = 4x35x10 = £1400 at least probably more like £1600

new front tires £135 (exellent deal i got)

1 new alloy after kerbing = £85

road tax (dunno but more than it was when i had my 1.4 rover)

insurance £85 x 10months = £850

TOTAL PAID EXCLUDING CAR = £3322 in 10months ! (and some)

TOTAL PAID INCLUDING CAR = £15322

at least the initial saving of 2.5k on the dealerprice of £14800 has soften the blow. but the biggest problem for me is a huge loan over a short period.

I got the car because i knew when i bought a house (which im doing soon) i wouldnt be able to afford anything nearly as quick or as cool then. and at the time when i had been used to £800 Polo and a 1.5k rover 214sli the MAX i could strech too was a 10k personal loan (although now i can mange more as i have better wage).

Big step up in everyway from a 1.2k 1.4 103bhp rover to a 12K 2.0 172bhp car that weighs less. especially when at the time of purchase i knew nothing about 172s or cars for that matter... in fact i wasnt interested in them (and ultimatley i will compromise for a house, its just a car still...sort of )

£2700 on the car and at the last count approx £3500 on it, and this isnt on mods..this was just to keep it on the road plus bodywork...she purrs like a pussycat now though (No faster though!)

Its all part of ownership I reckon, people winge about shelling out but it feels good in a twisted sort of way because you now your car is going to be that bit better.

why speand so much on bodys kits and lowering. why not just put the money towards a decent car in the first place? i can under stand a ice upgrade as i have done this my self and the standard equipment is never anygood on anycar. but sprayjobs and all that what a waste on time and money. and the wosrt thing about it is the car are worth less than they were if the was normal lol???

To have something different plus many people start modding as insurance means they cannot/ are unwilling to buy a faster or more expensive car. Then when people have spent all that money cna can afford more expensive cars dont bother as they have invested so much in ther car.

Whats it like running the NOS any problems with the engine since you put it in?? what injectors are you running?? toying with the idea for my next mod but have been quoted more than £300 though.

Well including stuff thats been on and off the car, its been through a few different stages of tuning thats for sure. Probably 20-25 grand in the six years Ive owned it.
