How to have super low bucket seats?

Hey guys.

I'm looking at getting the Corbeau seats or just the one next month as it's ma burfffdayyyyyy

But anyway, are there any really low subframes to make the seat proper low? I don't want to pay s**t loads for the OMP subframe for it to raise me higher than the standard seat with washer removed.

Are people getting custom brackets or what?

Thanks

You looking at getting the Clubsports? As you've seen in my thread, I've just fitted them with OMP mounts and they're a decent bit lower than standard seats. I find the seating position almost perfect TBH. I have to stretch a little to be able to see the bonnet, and I'm 5'10 so not a short arse, but not tall either.

I have removed the runners and mounted straight to the subframes though.

I actually find that seat that are too low are poop. As a temporary measure I have a bucket bolted to the rails under the carpet and it's so low it's a pain to know where the corners of the car are!

Like this.

Super low buckets are a pain on a road car. I ran mine super low in my old car to start with, becauseracecar and all that shite but soon changed it to actually suit me personally

Hiya! 😂

I've got a cobra Monaco pro seat (I'm sure) and use a unbranded subframe and runners was from a guy on eBay JJC race and rally. Don't know if he still has them or sold out. Was pretty much the same as OMP but no spacers or anything just bumps right into place.

I've got a big stone chip in the window (chasing a porsche ) and with the standard seat in it was square between the eyes now I'm a few inches below it and don't notice it. I'm 6ft 2"

Just get seats with adjustable backs, and you can roll with ultra badmanz lean angle.

As said, you'll only wipe your bumper off on a bollard when your sik low seat means you cant see squat when you're parking. Trufax

I've got custom made mounts for my seats.....aka a few pieces of metal that were kicking about home bolted to the original holes. It is quite low and you do feel it. Is a pain to see parking bays.

If I were to to it again I would have it a little higher and forward a bit. But I can't complain as I didn't have to pay the price of buying rails (or expensive seats as they were £80 for the pair)

I've got a nut acting as a spacer between the subframe and the seat mount. Could take that out and lower it maybe 5mm or so. Can also adjust it on the sidemount. There's 3 heights at the front and back. Its on the highest at the back and I raised it up one at the front to tilt the seat back slightly. Helps to make it feel lower still.

Also should've mentioned that's with the runners removed. Would sit a bit higher if they were left in.

The OMP mounts won't make it higher than standard. They will be lower and the overall seating 'shape' of a bucket makes it lower. As said, I wouldn't go stupidly low as it becomes daft.

Here are mine, on OMP frames with sliders. I let other people take it on track, so I need the sliders to adjust the seat.

These show the height of the seats in line with the roof, ignore the 'wonkyness' that is resolved now :);

Put it like this, i'm 6ft 5 and with mine on sliders and OMP mounts the seating position is low enough for me................

Mines on OMP subframes but no sliders and it is fine, I have the Bimarco aluminium mounts and drilled some holes lower down in them so the seat is about 20mm lower than it would have been, I cant go no lower now as the base of the seat is close to the subframe, but I had to trim and reprofile the top as they were too long and it would have been rubbing on the belt.

For what it's worth, I'm 6ft and have bimarco futura seats with OMP base and side mounts, plus a slider. It's a track day/sprint/hillclimb/whatever car, and I had to swap out the base and side mounts for a custom jobs to get me some 2" lower as my helmet kept hitting the rollcage.

I have the OMP frames, s**t and overpriced but not a lot else out there new, most annoying thing being they don't actually fit properly from the factory!

Anyway I'm 5"10 using an OMP frame, no slider with the new style Clubmans, lowered the back of my seat down one notch and it's pretty low tbh, my gf said it looks like there is a child driving the car when she drove past me the other week lol :p

I will hopefully have a new design X-Low design subframe available shortly.
Waiting on samples for test fitting and then pricing depending on how many I order.

One thing I've noticed from a custom built jobbie I got from someone on here, it's a nice fit but it really needs to use lengths of angle/box otherwise the rear section that over hangs back past the rear cross beam is way too flexible. Can't budge the seat with the OMP fitted, this one can rock slightly due to the flat frame twisting, especially if on a slider and set far back. I'll be getting a friend to knock up some new ones I think.

Mine have been designed with that in mind.
My VBD X-Low mounts are far from the bits of "flat bar" and "box iron" welded together, usually very badly.

Not long now.

Cheers
