How to remove the roof rail trim?

B

Bucko

After over an hour of searching i've finally narrowed down the cause of the wet patch in my boot. It's the plastic roof rail that runs above the whole length of the rear window. There's an obvious gap right at the end nearest the boot/spoiler which has been causing it to leak throughout all this bad weather over the last month.

How do i remove it so that i can replace the seal or stick some silicone on it? Does it need to be done by a window or trim specialist?

Any help apprieciated as i don't want to break it by just trying to pull it off.

If you're talking about the ones that run from the middle of the car to the back then you push them backwards

Cheers guys, i had no idea that it simply slides back. You still need to pop it off of the clips once it's slid back though.

There was a gap about an inch long where the seam of 2 panels wasn't spot welded/sealed properly so i've filed it with some silicone sealant.

Nice
