I Have A Dilemma - HELP

Trophy is away getting a lot of work done and i wanted to change the bearing inside my AST Soild top mounts due to them knocking.

Got a phone call from the garage to say that they ASTs are soild and that the thread inside can not be undone to get the bearing out as its has fully seized and the only way to possibly undo it is to heat it up but the threads could also strip.
Now the reason i went for the AST sold mounts is for the fact i don't want to drill my top mount turrets to fit the K-Tec, Compbrake, Kam Raing or PMS ones.

While looking online AST sold mounts are now £366 both from AST & KAM Racing and can take 8 to 12 weeks.

What would people do and what do people advise?
Should i use K-Tec, Compbrake, Kam Raing or PMS ones sold mounts or go standard ?

I'd agree with the guys above and say go for the standard top mounts, Marc. I have just bought a set myself and paid around £25-£30/pc. The AST's will cost over £300 more!! Are you REALLY going to notice enough of a difference to warrant the additional expense?

Just spoke to SWR and i have told them to buy new standard top mounts for the car and I'm now totally avoiding solid ones.

They have said that this would more or less happen with other ones i was to buy and its something you can't really stop unless you are stripping them and taking the bearing out every 6 months or a year.

I'd be soaking the Ast top mounts in a penetrating fluid (as in immersed) over at least 24hrs. They'll come undone then.

@NorthloopCup

Im getting them taken off and then going to leave them in a bucket of WD40 to see if that will help get them undone, Either way i need to replace or fix them so new genuine standard items are going on.

I have ktec ones. Were on it when I bought it so don't really know what advantage they give over standard.
What is the main plus side to them? Might change mine back to standard next time round.

  dan's cast offs.
don't bother with wd40, it's not a penetrating fluid. mix some acetone and atf and then soak them in that.
