its going in a megane that was previously a 1.6 so i dont think its up to the job (plus its in the tank)
tbh i could do with a bit of educating when it comes to FPR's as i dont know what im looking for or at. i know what it does and i know how it does it but when it comes to picking one for my car im a bit lost.
for example ive been under the impression for months that the standard FPR isnt good enough for boost
if the FPR is in the tank then i should imagine theres no way to get a vac line there. and is there a facility for it to accept it?
hence me looking for an adjustable or rising rate one thats reccomended.
inmjectors is another thing i need lol. think i need 550cc
there won't be a port for a vac line in the tank so your gonna have to modify your fuel sytem to accept one in the engine bay. Im sure one of the lads over on RTOC used a PH1 fuel rail on his F7R turbo converion, you sure you cant just fit one with the FPR in the rail as it'll save a lot of aggro. Don't waste your time with a rising rate FPR as there generally junk, in fact I have a brand new one that came as part of a Turbo conversion from Ktec you can have LoL
had another look at that map sensor. it says webber marrelli. is this the same? will it work with omex?
i can fit an FPR to the F7R rail yeah but im unsure as to wether the standard one is up to the job. i cant even remember if it has a vac input on it.
my plan was to use a walbro pump in the tank and bypassing the intank reg (i.e take it out) and have a feed to the rail and then have a return to the tank. putting the FPR on the rail somewhere (on the return i guess?)
Your plan is fine, obviously you'll need a return. I recommend the PH1 rail with the FPR for ease of use, however theres nothing wrong with using a seperate adjustable FPR.
The map sensor will be fine for the omex it comes with the scaling for programming into the ECU.
It should cope fine mate, I ran mine at 1.2 without any issues, you'll probably struggle to find an aftermarket fuel rail that will fit easily. I've just had a look on Jenvey's website and theres a couple of renault inlet manifolds, it seems they have a centre line from inlet port to inlet port of 89mm which means the PH1 fuel rail should certainly line up, as I said above one of the RTOC members had one fitted to his F7R. In fact you might be worthwhile joing RTOC as theres a lad with a F7P powered five just pulled 451bhp
the thing thats putting me off RTOC is the joining cost lol. i think its a bit steep for someone who doesnt own a 5 (which i always assumed was the majority of the owners on there). and i wasnt sure wether it would benefit me that much.
ill have a scan on here for a phase 1 rail and FPR then, if your sure the FPR will be up to the job?
does the walbro 255 have the same fitment for every car?
The best thing about RTOC is the joining fee as it keeps all the numpties and trolls out LoL
The thing is the majority of highly tuned renault turbo engines have some dealings with the RTOC and the guys there put together some awesome projects. Whilst people on here ask will a 225 lump go in a clio? and everyone says no, lads over there don't ask anyone they just throw a 225 lump in a renault 5. Your right the majority of the owners have renault fives but theres a few clio turbos over there and quite a few of the fives have engines borrowed from other Renaults ie Scoffs F4R Turbo five, Ashy's F4R turbo five, Matt C's F4RT powered five and theres plenty of F7R/P both turbo and N/A. Theres also plenty of B18 Volvo conversions as well. Theres loads of swithced on lads willing to share and help out, it's not a forum its a proper car club. It holds its own trackdays and santa pod days which as member you get at heavily discounted rates.
Anyway back on topic I'm not sure what the different fitments are across the clio range for fuel pumps, have a look on ktecs web page or scan ebay see whats on offer. Stop worrying about the FPR.
Well if you stick a 255LPH pump in there, its not gonna run lean, mine was happily supplying 374bhps worth of juice via a standard 3bar bosch FPR using 630cc injectors at 75% duration.
As long as your fuel pump can exceed your max injector flow, you will always be able to maintain enough pressure to operate the FPR pressure, which in turn regulates the fuel pressure in the fuel rail. At 300bhp using 550cc injevtors you'll be fine (for the hundreth time )
Not sure wheres the best place for injectors or what the Omex can drive. I used siemen dekas 630cc (long injectors) last time, bought them of a VW friend. My new 870cc ones are from Injector dynamics in the states.
RStuning sell the short 630cc siemen deka injectors but I'm not sure what sort of prices they are.
Grab a pic of it mate and post it up or pm me. If its got a FPR fitted to it then it should work fine. I was under the impression that you had a non return fuel rail similar to what's fitted to a 172/182 and meg 225
goes in 1 end all the way through the injectors to the FPR then back on itself in another part of it towards the inlet but comes out 3/4 of the way there
I'll have to look at the pics on my Laptop when I get home. If it has got a supply, return and vacuum port then there's no reason not to use it. What injectors are normally used with that fuel rail, Siemens, Bosch etc...?
Well your laughing then mate, stick a 3 bar FPR in there and grab a set of bosch injectors. Unless the Siemens dekas fit then you could just stick a set of 630cc's in there and you'll be fuelled all the way to 400bhp+
Just had a read through your project thread, looking good
I think it is a 3 bar mate. I know how you feel about the money spending aspect mines cost a fair few pennies now....... But I'll never get rid of it
Regarding injectors, see if you can get a Clio Siemens injector, if it fits I'd just splash out on 630cc Dekas as you'll kick yourself if you buy 530's and need to upgrade them for more power in the future
Cheers mate, I was at the fabricators on Sat, my tubular manifold is awesome, his workmanship is amazing hopefully should get it back soon
What size injector outlets are in the megane fuel rail? most injectors are interchangeable but untill you stick them in there its hard to say 100%. Id just try a 1*2 injector in there and if it all lines up at least you know the likes of r26 injectors or any siemens dekas will work.
I think RStuning sell 630cc shorty's for £250 ish but you'd have to give him a ring to check.
