I want my engine to look like this..

  182, SRT8, RS4, GT-R
Hi all,
I want my engine to look like this, I've bought some heat resistant paint and have a few Q's..

i) Do i need to primer it first?

ii)I've had a quick look and seen the bolts needed to undo it, do I need to be careful of anything? The map sensor will need to be unplugged, is it just a case of unplugging?

iii) If someone would as kind to actually point the necessary bolts out i'd be much appreciated.

  Chocolate Bar™
take the plenum off the car. degrease it all and allow it to fully dry, and then spray heat resistant paint over it in thin coats letting it dry fully between coats.

not removed one myself, so wont try to wing that part of the response

2 bolts either side of the coilpack, coilpack has 4 bolts holding it in. Take off the plastic clips for the wires. Just pull out the MAP sensor and air temp sensor. 5 bolts at the front of the manifold, you can unbolt the throttle body or mask it up, but you'll have to unplug it being careful of the clip (i use a flat head small screwdriver to just lift the tab up and it pops off, many a person just snaps it). Brake servo line off........carbon canister line off.

Than paint, no real prep needed bar a clean.

^ Oh. My. God. I'll be re-reading that for the best part of 30 mins before I decipher it ;).

Hate to be a pain but anyone got any pics of the bolts?

Coilpack, at the risk of sounding a complete numpty, where is it? Brake servo line? Whats a carbon cannister?

at the rear of the manifold, which you cant see.

The coilpack is in a 6x6" sort of square recess...the plug leads will go to it so you can find it easily.

The Brake servo line and carbon canister line are at the rear of the plenum aswell, just next to the throttle body.

Dont have any pics of those specific items sorry.

Thought so, just wasn't sure...

Okay I think I can manage the bolts, just a little unsure about the brake line servo and carbon cannister bit.

Is this safe for a complete novice to do? I can't f**k anything up can i? lol.
