i was told today my car 172 cup should rev to 7200rpm but mine limts at 6750?

as above doesnt make no difference if i bin driving for a hour limiter just cuts in at 6750 however advised today that it should rev to 7200? and help wud be grateful

yes it should as standard go to 7200 does it get to temperature ok any movement on the gauge?

get to temperature fine and sit at dead on half or just above half all the time

Standard map & ECU should:

rev to 6750 when engine is "cold" (as defined by oil temp which you don't have a gauge for, not water/coolant temp which is what's on your dash)
7200 in gears 1 & 2 when engine is sufficiently "warm"
7000 in gears 3, 4 and 5 when engine is sufficiently "warm"

It is probably a faulty coolant temp sensor just reading a little low.
