Ideal Engine temp?

Hey

Drove home withe the RS tuner running yesterday.

With the AC on the Engine coolant temp never went over 85C (well 85.68)

With it off the coolant temp raised to 105 max whilst i was in stationary traffic for a good 15 mins.

Is that an OK temp??

No idea, Only runs when AC is on as far as i can tell.

My Leon runs about those temps, only goes over 100degrees if prolonged high speed though.

i never heard, or saw the fans come on on my 172/182 in 6 years of ownership so don't worry.

The fans are massivley quiet on the 1*2's ive found when up to temp leave it idling and pop the bonnet after a few mins it will come on but look not listen.

Or im turning deaf lol.

85-92 is optimum running temp imo on the clio.

Prob only comes on if i was in 40C outside traffic

As long as the needle stays bang in the middle and doesn't move I wouldn't worry.

Yeah that's true with the fan you can not hear them.
MartinR your not going deaf. No hearing aids yet needed lol.

But yeah pop bonnet and wait it will kick in.

I have had the bonnet open for like 30 mins and no fan kicking in :/ temps @ 83.5C sitting idle
