Identify These Connectors?

Just wondering if anyone can identify these, Ph1 172 Engine Loom...

1. Next to the plug for the thermostat housing...?

2. On its own wire, about a foot long, nothing else stems from it...?

3. These two are on the other side of the loom near the lambda sensor, what are they...?

Cheers!

First one could be TPS? Second one looks like the VVT soleniod plug but has a few others with it on a Ph2. Third pass.

Ive come to the conclusion that those pics are crap, ive just laid out the loom and labelling a picture of it with the ones i know, maybe it will be easier for people to recognise...

your 'foglamp' bit looks like the fan to me? 5 is the fan resistor

6 is the crash switch

your series of pics confuses me, which other ones are you missing?

10 is aircon and can be ditched iirc

The pics might be confusing as i keep over writing it when i update the labels :p

5 = fan resistor, you mean the rad fan or blower unit?

foglamp could be fan yeah? Im not sure....possibly is....

This is number 6, plugs into here......Crash switch you say?

that's your throttle position sensor ^^ should be on the same branch as the ICV, coil pack and air temp sensor...

the crash switch is the one on the same branch as the +ve battery terminal.

'5' is the radiator fan resistor - to allow the fan to run slower
'foglamps' is the actual radiator fan

the crash switch is a stand alone item that bolts to the NS suspension strut iirc

*has a look for a pic*

The big pics now updated....the only thing im not 100% sure on is the top right, VVT? or not....it plugs in next to the oil filler cap, under the map sensor, two pin black connector...?

because I love you and I now happen to have a 172'd mk1 parked outside... here's a pic of the crash switch

all it is is an inertial switch which stops the signal wire from the ecu to the fuelpump/coilpack relay... car stops suddenly, fuel and ignition will be stopped!

if you don't want the switch, you can just bridge the wires.

I kept it as it seems a useful thing to have! my car is quite low and stiff and i've not yet had a problem with it cutting in unexpectedly either...

the switches are the same on most mk2 clio era Renault iirc... so easy to get from a scrappy
