If I remove ABS and Air Bag ECU, what lights will I end up with?

I'm guessing all of them LOL!

I have a phase 2 non ESP 172.

I'm guessing the ABS removal will bring up the ABS, STOP and SERV lights?

Removing the airbag ECU will then bring up the SERV and Airbag lights?

I'm trying to keep the dash light sequence in contemplation of the new rules if they ever come in plus the lit dash would do my tits in.

I assume the only lights a tester would check for would be Airbag and ECU and I could disable the STOP and SERV lights?

Removing ABS isn't the same as it being there but not working with a fault.
you can not fail a car on something it doesn't have.

same as a stripped out car, removing rear seats and seatbelts, they can't fail it for the rear belts being faulty!!

You can pass it as it will be extensivley modified.

Where a vehicle has been extensively modified or converted, Reasons for Rejection for components missing where fitted as standard should not be applied.

so next time I take a customers car for its mot and the abs light is on I can just say "don't worry about the light mate it hasn't got abs"

Yep that's what my MOT guy said. If its not there, it can't fail.

Does anyone know if I'm right on my lights?

My 182 had what you plan and I had ABS/serv/airbag light and it passed MOT fine.

Although you could get rstuner or clip and disabled airbags all together? (Will get rid of the light iirc).

On the vein of if it's not there, it can't be checked, it looks to me like I should just remove the offending lights and live with the fact that the SERV light will be permanently hidden.

I was always under the impression that the airbag light could be turned off by disabling the airbags and leaving the ecu present.

It can but I don't want the mass of wires, impact sensors or ecu so am going to unpick them from the loom and cover the lights I think.
