Inner Wheel Arch Liners

Are there any mods or tips to stop all the muck building up under the wheel arch liners fitted under the front wings?

It amazes me how much crap gets trapped up and behind them especially at the bottoms of the wings between the arch/footwell and sill areas and the spongy thing between them and I do want to stop rust from causing issues. . So apart from regular cleaning are there any tips or mods that anyone has done???

Could coat the inside with ACF-50 or similar to try and help protect the metal in between clean outs?
