Installing 6x9s in parcel shelf

  Clio Oasis 1.2i
I have a Clio mk1 and I am fitting my kenwood 6x9s in the parcel shelf, any advice on where i should run the wires? shall i rip up the carpet and run them under that or shall i take off the trim somehow and run the wires under that?
Also, am i gonna need to do anything else to the parcel shelf to make the sound quality be as good as it can be?

Also, how loud is my system going to be? its a Sony CDX GT44IP

There is no external amp, it is just the hu and the speakers.

Cheers in advance!

First up, don't get 6*9's round speakers are loads better. Plus if you just chop up your standard shelf & boltm them into it they'll sound awful - plus someone will probably nick them.

Imo sony stuff is awful, it may have improved now, but a while ago it was awful.

You run the wires down the door sills by the way (just pull the trim back and run the wires)

I was running infinity 6'9's for a while, I built a new shelf as the original would have farted like a fatty after vinegar with the lower end vibration. It sounded great, I took the back seat speakers out and just extended the cables. Have taken it out now though to strip the back end down!

try to keep them away from other looms to avoid picking up any interferance too and if you can, i would fit a shelf plug so you can just take the shelf out if need be with out all the hassle of takeing wires off etc.

I used to have 6 x 9's in my parcel shelf in my polo, sounded crap on standard parcel shelf.

In my clio I have an MDF parcel shelf (think it cost me about £60) it's covered with carpet etc, and you can't see the speaker through it either (so no one should try and nick them!!)

Much better sound with an MDF one, also if your gonna have a sub, it might be worth thinking about just getting better speaker in the back of the car, as the sub will interfere with the sound quality of the 6x9's, or just build a box around them (if you get an MDF shelf).
