instrument panel

as above, do i have to remove the dash top to get the instrument panel out, if so where are the screws (are the behind the dash strips), some of my lights arent coming on when i put it on ignition 2 so im wanting to check the bulbs, has anybody else ever had instrument panel bulbs fail, cheers in adavnce

The speedo dials (If that's what you're referring to) are LED's so there are no 'bulbs' to change.

In answer to your question - yes the dash top has to come off to remove the cluster.

so is it unlikely they have failed, or maybe someone has removed them, my serv light dosnt come on and there is another one that dosnt work and little things like that annoy me lol

Have you recently bought the car?
In my opinion it's likely that someone (the previous owner) might have stuck tape over the light(s) as a cheap fix. Seen this done so many times.

Which other light(s) don't illuminate?

Dash top is 13 screws. Firstly remove both A pillars. Remove both dash trims. Remove screws from under dash trims and from the vent that runs along the windscreen.
There's 2 silly plastic screws in each end of the dash where the doors meet it, remove these carefully.

Think that's about it, dash should then pull forward (it will be stuck), then remove it out the car via the passenger side.

The kind chap at the garage i bought my car from stuck tape over my service and airbag light! With regards to the dash, there's a guide in the guides section. Says pretty much the same as what Da has told you, but there are pictures if you get stuck ;)
