Insurance - 172 Cup to 182 Cup

Car  Peddled device
I was led to believe that a 182 Cup was cheaper to insurance than a 172 Cup....the 172 being group 17 and the 182 16.
Does anyone know for sure?

172 Cup is 16 or 17 depending on insurer iirc, some don't treat it differently to a 172. I got quotes between £600-£1200 for my Cup! 182 Cup may cost more because its newer and therefore worth more.

I'd think that's right. Greenlight won't touch the 172 Cup because of the number that have been in accidents and written off so I'd imagine other companies charge more to cover it. The Value of the car might even that all out though.

The Trophy cost me a little more than the Cup packed 182 as it's also group 17.

Think Lee's got it right, try green light now though, they seem to give good quotes to non real cup owners (had to get that in ;) )

I had already paid up for the full year in november....about £580 fully comp. They want an extra £53 for the 182 :(
Ho hum....i'll have to rob another OAP then!

I thought they were all gropu 16. Ah well, never mind. I'm not changing any time soon so it doesn't make any odds!
