Just disclosed the following mods to my insurance company:

Full Prospeed exhaust and de-cat
BMC Sealed carbon IK
-30mm Apex springs
Goodridge braided brake hoses
KTec Drilled Discs front and rear
EBC Green Stiff pads
Plus the 6 points that I acquired at court yesterday

How much do you reckon my insurance went up???

£37 lol :):):):):):) chuffed! (Not about the points though:( )

Adrian Flux. Apparently, it only went up because of the bhp increase on the exhaust and filter :approve:

£37, that's outrageously good! Do you have to be 21 to go with flux?
Don't think so but they could never give me a competitive quote, far from it infact. Is a good price, wish mine were only that much.

same here, and yesterday I found out why!

I phoned them up for a quote and basically to cut a long story short was told that to give better rates on modded cars I needed to have owned the car for over a year and the more mods it has the better the discount. If you had say one engine mod listed as a turbo conversion they wouldn't like it and it would cost a fortune, but if you listed all the bits in the conversion and had uprated brakes, suspension etc then it would be cheaper... I couldn't actually believe I was being told this as it made absolutely no f**king sense!

best company for insuring mods I have found is Hyperformance who Direct Line put me in touch with. You can have as many mods as you like and because it's modified they dont just double the premium, they actually look into your individual case, which is nice.

And what a gain it gets from those 2 performance items. Defo a higher risk now than b4 ;)

Still couldnt give me a decent quote and i listed all my mods :(

try Hyperformance 0800 740 8058, they have given me a nice quote on a highly modified car, saved myself over £500 on average!

I will be keeping hyperformance in mind for when I renew in December. I think that is when I will be stung!

How did you get Direct Line to agree to 3 mods? They told me their underwriters weren't allowing ANY mods, including just alloy wheels. That's why I changed my insurance company. ~Confused~

Errm, WAY above 25, I'm 45. They flatly refused to insure ANY mods, not even my wheels, so I went somewhere else, and they are fine with all of my mods that I have and future intended ones.
