Insurance with Tesco

Hi, I know that they only insure a few mods but I was wondeing if anyone has a rough price taht tesco charge extra for a car lowered 40mm. Just as the online quote wont let me try this!!

Erm whoever told you they only insure a few mods is wrong.

My car is insured with them, full list of mods declared !

ah cool, it would only be my lowering I would declare, everything else is standard (or near enough )

Its just cos teh call centre is shut just now I cant phone and find out. Direct Line has just beaten them by a tenner! Same company I know!

Are tesco any good??? I'm 19 with 1years no claims and am paying £1300 on a 1.2 with alloys (£730) and tints declared..also three points (pc30) with norwich union on their rapid bonus...

tesco have always been a little expensive for me with mods declared.

this year they were over £100 more than Greenlight.

I think i'll try greenlight but they have a age restriction dont they??

Tesco were very expensive for me when I declared my mods with them and they didn't understand them very well either (but neither did I ... lol) .. got a quote with Greenlight for half the price .. Happy Days...

I'll try Greenlight again but they dont seem competitive for the lower engined models

I really want to insure my mods this year but am worried about asking them cos last year they wanted an extra £300 for a air filter and lowering.

for the air filter they asked what the performance increase was and I said its maybe 1bhp if they and they put in up to 5bhp, and for the lower they just asked the price of the kit which was £260.

Well Direct Line are cheaper and its only £100 more to insure my gf who passed today! Do they do mods or not?

not heard good reports on tesco insurance from people who have tied to claim from them (non clio sports though)

But the level of service ive had from them has been good, so im now awaiting my renewal price from them! will be my 3rd year with them if i stay.

Every company is a pain when claiming from, i know a few peeps who have claimed from Tesco and has been ok, so they cant be all bad

Spend a few days hunting round guys....

Make sure your getting the same "level" of cover from each
ie, will pay for mods etc....

Some only pay out for AV stuff if its factory stuff so do check!

i claimed from tesco, i was second driver on the policy too.... was my first car (e36 BMW) which i wrote off. Didn't take much time for the money to come through
quite happy with them so far......

Tesco quoted me £1700 whereas I can get my insurance for £550 lol
