Interested in a buying ClioSport (not the club ;) )

Hi I have been interested in buying a Clio Sport 2.0 182hp 2005 model, and I got pretty much everything figured out except I can't go and see the car myself. They dont have it here and I am moving to another place where they do (long story). Anyways I have a couple of questions for anyone who can help:

- How loud/clear is the audio system on the CS?
- What color is the interior lighting?
- Will the Pioneer DEH-P860MP head unit fit in it?

Thought you want to buy the club for a second...

IMO the standard audio system (headunit/speakers) is crap but that's easily rectified.

Interior lighting? You mean the courtesy light or dash lights?

Don't see why it wouldn't fit.

Welcome to CS

As standard stereo's go the Cabasse h/unit is ok IMO, using mine with an ipod and find it acceptable.

Any Headunit with ISO conections will plug straight in, you will need adapters to keep stalk and display though.

You buy your cars to fit your stereo?
buy a different stereo perhaps, with amber illumination?

Lol i am not buying a car to fit my stereo. I am tryin to see if this stereo would look nice coz i have a good deal on one. And i am not buying the club lol.

I already ordered the car actually. Black color. I got a good deal on it too, couldnt pass it.

Btw wat is cabasse?

Cabasse is the manufacturer i think, ie sony, alpine, kenwood, cabasse, ....etc etc

(i may be wrong though.)

Which speakers/amp do you recommend. I prefer quality over power. I know its a general question but I am sure many have you have experimented with different brands. What is recommended, what should I avoid? Total RMS power for amp (minimum i should consider, things like that)

Headunit illumination being a different colour isnt really a big deal IMO. As far as standard audio goes its not bad in the clio. Certainly better than other cars ive driven around the same price. Having said that i pulled it all out and fitted a Pioneer head unit and an alpine amp and sub.

I always through the standard head unit sounded ok. I wouldn't worry about the different colour, although if you are fussy I know my Kenwood unit in my civic has an option for changing the colour of the buttons. Not sure how useful that is in the real world, but hey!

i know, maybe an admin can change it. sorry my fault.

i dont have a stereo yet, just looking for a general idea.

about being crazy to buy a clio without seeing it, i dont think its a bad idea. i know wat the car looks like, and how fast it is. no downpayment, just a lease with a good price. couldnt pass it by!

I made do with the standard headunit for about 6 months but got fed up with the quality - it's acceptable but I wanted to play MP3s in the car. I ended up buying an Alpine unit that can change illumination between green and amber. The amber is a perfect match for the Clio's dash, possibly a touch too bright at night but not that bad - things like that ARE important to me
