interesting pictures on flickr

Was having a ganders on flickr on their mapping system where photos are tagged. found it well interesting.

For example a few from the area where i used to live:

No real point tbh, just found it interesting (as do many of you no doubt.) Are these pics all done with loads of effects or what? differnet lenses/cameras etc?

Those pics could have been taken with a kit lens I think. The 3rd looks a little wide and theyve all had a bit of PP but good shots.

what do you mena by kit lens? like different filters or something? or specific differnet lenses?

Kit lens is 18-55mm. 18 is the wide end and 55mm is how far you could zoom. Its the lens that comes with most DSLR's, so considered the kit lens.

Love Flickr, can (and do) get lost for hours on there, some truly incredible photographers. Worth spending time looking at some of the macro stuff, the ideas and execution constantly surprise me, amazing.

I imagine geotagging (what seb was browsing by the sounds of it) will be pretty much standard and built into many cameras (and therefore exif data) sooner rather than later. There is a GPS attachment for the D90, and the prototype D90s actually had wifi built in as standard as well.

Theyre not very big. I had an XL which will fit your D40 fine, with room for cards etc in the front and another lens.

Ive got the XXXL now.

Got any pics of it open and full of gear? Trying to find a smallest possible bag to take a D90 with 50mm 1.8 attached, and a Sigma 10-20 and Sigma 50-150, but everything I've seen so far has been too small, or absolutely massive.

XL is not very big! I use it and it fits my D60 + 16-85 mounted lengthways and the SB-400 at the end - thats where is stops!!!

I have it in Olive - great colour in the flesh!!

pmsl, after loads of Pretty Boy research I'm now looking at Muffin Tops, unfortunately there are virtually no user pics online and the dimensions are different to the old Pretty Boys. Will need to find a real life stockist I think and take my gear along.
