Intermittent washer jet problem

Hope some one can help.

We have a ph2 172.

Now i have checked the washer fluid levels, and cleared the nozzels with a pin.

This fault as said is Intermittent, somtimes you pull the stalk for the washers and nothing no sound of the washer motor but you hear the relay click, but no water.

Then after several pulls you may be lucky and it works.

The Odd thing is though the rear one has stopped working alltogether, and when you try the rear one water dribbles out of the front washers :lolup:


Any advice would be great

Check the fuse of the rear for firsts only takes 10 mins too.

I have checked both fuses and both are ok.

May be worth replacing them incase they are faulty. Just seems odd that the front one works somtimes say 1 out 10 pulls on the stalk.

As said the rear now dont work but upto yesterday they where the same every 10 - 15 twists you may get them to work.

yeah common fault, one way valve in washer pump just dies, usually fronts stop working all toghether and when u pull the front washer stalk it operates the rear! but most probs is the washer pump

I've got this exact problem, new pump time then!

Deffo new pump. £20 from the stealer.

Check the pump though it can be an electrical issue

Changed the pump on mine today, problem solved.
