Iphone 3GS repair - how hard?

Car  Audi A3
as the title really,

just dropped my iphone 3gs on the carpeted floor at work and its smashed the screen. bummer.

insurance comes with a £75 excess and apparently there are kits on the bay to replace the glass?

anyone attempted it, if so how hard is it?

cheers

It's not the hardest thing in the world, just be careful, take your time and remember where bits go.

A plectrum is a good thing to use to get it apart.

If you don't want to risk it you should find somewhere local that will do it for about £40.

I have done it myself but wasn't that happy with the job. I broke the screen again a couple of months later and took it to the shop.

A lot better finish.

cheers Revels although i have no idiea what a plectrum is?

Tow B, what was it that you made you unhappy with the job that you did on it?

I left a finger print on the inside of the screen.

I used a small set of screwdrivers.

I replaced mine, about £10 off ebay, unless you're a mong it's easy.

Just for people searching and coming across this.

I've just done mine. Took little over an hour, used online guides and it's just as it was before.

Don't be scared to do it yourself at all just give it a go!
