Re: iPhone 5. Pre-Orders 14/9. Ships 21/9. iOS6 19/9

I'll be in Nottingham anyway in my Uni apartment and my phone will get betting delivered to Birmingham, so whenever it does arrive, I'll be driving back to pick it up as well as getting a screen protector from Apple.

I'm iPhoneless from Thursday when I send off my 4S, so hopefully not too long after Friday. They're saying up to 30 days from the 21st, I'm hoping for no longer than a couple of weeks.

Re: iPhone 5. Pre-Orders 14/9. Ships 21/9. iOS6 19/9

My contract with Orange ends on the 4th Dec. I don't get any 3G whilst at work which is when I need it the most so I'm waiting until December so I can port my ("Orange Gold" - ie. Easy to remember) number over to O2 which has good 3G network coverage at my work.

Plus, with any luck the costs of the iPhone 5 will have reduced. I can't help but feel a little dissapointed with the iPhone 5 announcement though, I thought it would have a hell of a lot more features than the bigger screen, 4G and slimmer/lighter specs it outdoes the 4/4S with.

Kinda looking at the Galaxy S3 aswell but I know I'd regret getting that once the iPhone 5's software/hardware is jailbroken.

I went for the 32GB deal with them. Just hope the iPhone doesn't take toooooo long to get delivered.

£36 a month with 2000 mins, unlimited texts and data and £219 for the phone is a good deal.
Total cost of the 2 year is £1083.
Compared to if you bought the phone outright and got a sim only deal for £15 a month would be £960.
It's worth taking the contract at that price I'd say.
But what about 4G/LTE ?

The Sim only deal I would have got was £20 per month, making a total of £1080, that's why I went contract this time!

I don't mind paying a few extra quid for 4G, I'm either based in Birmingham or Nottingham so should get good signal.

What was the launch date for the 4s last yeah in the uk? The date we all got delivery?

Re: iPhone 5. Pre-Orders 14/9. Ships 21/9. iOS6 19/9

I'm in no rush so going to wait till O2 get another batch and go for the £26pm deal and pay £300 for the phone which totals £924.

Three was the other option at £12.90pm and £600 for phone which totals £909.60.

Not a great deal in it. I know you get unlimited data with three, but only 200mins. Will just have to keep an eye on data.

The misses does not get charged when she goes over, Internet just goes very slowly!!

32gb in White I think.

As soon as T-mob admit to having any. I'll have to have a word with EE and see if I can transfer my partner status. If not, I wont move.

For anyone on O2, they have updated their site and nano sims will be available in store from Tuesday

Re: iPhone 5. Pre-Orders 14/9. Ships 21/9. iOS6 19/9

I'll probably just keep my 3GS until it literally dies, then buy a used 5. When the 6 comes out, recycle the 5 and pay the extra for the new one.

I had a contract on 3 that was £10 a month for unlimited texts, internet and 200 minutes. It ended but I carried on with the payments, meaning I get the same thing for the same amount but I'm not tied into anything. Job done!

Might be a silly question but can I upgrade 6 months early on this cpw deal or is my only option the £63 per month free handset from O2?

With the 4s from Vodafone last year you could not have it delivered to a different address, but you could have it picked up in store.

With the 5 you can have it delivered anywhere and you cant collect in store.

plus for a 16GB White iPhone 5....

12 month contract on Vodafone. £229 up front and £46 a month. totals £781. Unlimited text messages, 900 minutes and 1mb date.

Its the best comparison I've seen.

Looks like my iPhone 5 has a week 35 production date (August 27th-September 2nd), not like that information is useful :)

I'm on £10 a month sim only with vodafone. 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500 Mb data. Chose this after 2 years on £40 a month.

So now costing £529 for the phone and £10 a month for a minimum of 12 months. Large initial price but saving so much in the long run.

Re: iPhone 5. Pre-Orders 14/9. Ships 21/9. iOS6 19/9

I find 500MB to difficult to stay under, it was only like £3 for an extra 100MB, or £6 for another 500MB though, so ended up doing that a few times over the past year!

O2 have offered be a couple of decent deals one o them is on a 12 month contract but the phone is leased. Any problems with leasing?

What happens if you lose/damage it?

Whats the actual offer?

12mnths unlimited calls and txt, 1gb with tethering.

For the 16gb : 40/mnth. 32gb : 45/mnth, 64gb : 50/mnth. No upfront cost.

They recommend I get phone insurance (which I do through the bank) and when the time comes to hand back the phone I should call my bank to repair any damage.

Re: iPhone 5. Pre-Orders 14/9. Ships 21/9. iOS6 19/9

Well, Vodafone do a 12 month contract, which is 600 minutes, Unlimited texts and 1GB dataa for 41 a month, £289 upfront, then you own the phone.

Then you can either continue on a sim only deal at about £10-20 a month after, or you can sell it for circa £300 (How much I just got for my 4S),

I would never lease a phone.

Re: iPhone 5. Pre-Orders 14/9. Ships 21/9. iOS6 19/9

Vodafone appears ok but the best look like three with their unlimited Everything at 40 per mnth and 90 upfront for 32gb

O2 also offered unlimited calls, text and 1gb with tethering for 30/mnth and 174 upfront.

Re: iPhone 5. Pre-Orders 14/9. Ships 21/9. iOS6 19/9

Same here.

I'd personally rather just get a 24 month contract and sell the handset/buy handset only half way through in order to upgrade.

Or simply just go simplicity/sim only deal and buy the handset outright!
