did a bit of buying/selling to get a cheaper replacement though:

Bought barred 3g - £130
Sold to some bloke in germany + £220
Bought new one in uk -£240

so cost me £150 in the end, not too bad and it will be insured this time

I found out mines covered with our home insurance, £100 excess I think, which works out cheaper than paying for insurance and then excess on top. No extra either, so hopefully if I never have to claim, no money spent.

Well its on 3.0.1 already so I have Jailbroken it from there. You still use the 3.0 firmware when Jailbreaking though.
