Is 2 better than 1

Hey guys, deperately in need of advice.

Got my ice nicked so need to replace. Seen a few deals about:

2xRockford subs (RFP-4412, 200rms) & Power 250M amp

OR

1xRockford sub (RFP-4212, 400rms) & Punch 301M amp

Which is better? Is two lower powered subs better than the one??

Also will the 250M amp (mailto:250rms@2ohms">250rms @2ohms) be sufficient to power the two 200rms subs??

Cheers guys

I would have thought going for the single sub was easier - less messing about with Ohms and all that confusing malarky! I think the Power range of amps is more Sound Quality based than the SPL based Punch series.

I *think*...

Either way, itll be bloody loud! :D

One quality sub will always be better than two not so good subs, you can tweek one easily, once you bring a second into the equation it can get messy as the soundwaves from one will effect the other!

there both 12" i presume!! and as far as i know the punch series are the lower series. RF are allot higer powered than they quote, for competition cheating i think the punch series is less so.

IMO, get 1 getter quality, a single 12 with 250m amp - that will prob give over 300 rms at 4 ohm!!! if you have a cap - as thats how RF get avules down by having less interal caps - as far as i aware!! this will be more than enough SPL, unless u want complete earth shaking volume!! and good sq as easier to set up, as well as more boot space ect.
