Just wondering if I may remove this metal gear after I have relocated battery back to trunk?
I suppose this metal thing was just an opposite weight for battery???

It's on the cambelt side of the engine bay kelv. The op hasn't explained himself very well! Lol.

Our new RB182 has this too, noticed it the other day, our other 172s havent had it.

Thats the best guess I could make as well, alter the resonant frequency of the bit of the shell that the mount locates on.

So it's under the engine mount then?

Might as well f*ck mine off seeing as my solid engine mounts rattle the f*ck out the car,
so having a weight to cancel out vibration is a waste of pissing time.
