Is my exhaust blowing?

Thats from an ice cold start. Skip to 1:10 ish to see what I mean...
You might also notice the puddle (condensed water?) under the joint

Thanks

Ahmed

Well the fact there are fumes coming from the joint is a bit of a giveaway ;)

Does it go away once the car/exhaust has warmed up a bit?

put hand on area when you think it's blowing, if you feel air coming out it's blowing.

Sorry guys dont know much about this clearly. What does it mean if does go away once the car is warmed up? It didnt start immediately as you can see in the video. So im thinking it may be an intermittant thing?

if the exhaust is blowing it will be when cold as when the exhaust gets hot it will expand and close the gap

Do you mean the moisture weeping from the joint? It could just be the gasket that's given up, mine was the same so I just used sealant to stop it blowing/leaking.

Awsome. So its definately blowing.

How urgent is this to get fixed? I'm guessing it is affecting performance.

Well mine blows a tiny bit when cold from one of the joints ( I can't see it though, can just feel it a bit if I cup my hands round it) but once it warms up and the exhaust expands and pushes itself together a bit it goes away so I haven't bothered trying to sort it.

^ Yeah I was thinking it could just be because its extremily cold! Have never noticed blowing before its been fitted for about 3/4 months with no problems.

nothing urgent mate and wont make a major difference tbh but will need it doing as it will affect your running efficency and how much juice you are using. take it an exhaust centre mate they usually patch them up for about a tenner.

Having done a bit more research, it seems that a blowing exhaust can adversely affect performance by quite a bit!

So whats the best solution for this? New clamp and reseal with more sealent? Or should I get it patched/wrapped?

If its just leaking between the flanges get some loctite 5920 I think it is. Its copper colour anyway and seals it up nicely and still gives some flex.
