is the megane 225 crank the same as the 172?

no idea, but Andy at GDI has an exceptionally nice custom crank... not sure how much they are, but what's wrong with balancing the stock crank? They are good for almost 8500rpm

hi, the revs are not the issue its the power, the rods and pistons have been changed but 400hp through a stock crank:dead: and thats before i hit the red button on the wheel!

fred, get them pics up, are the journals the same etc? its just the crank is a bit bigger?

Ben, speak to Andy mate, he knows what he's on about and can advise you on what you will need, be it a modded stock one, custom one or re-worked Megane one. He'll be able to give you specific technical reasons which you will no doubt need running that kind of tune
